3 Day Queen Elizabeth Safari & Kyambura Chimpanzee Tracking

Your safari begins with an early departure from Entebbe for the journey west towards Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Travel through Uganda's countryside, with changing landscapes along the way as you make your way towards the park. Lunch and short stops can be arranged during the journey before continuing to your lodge.

Arrive in the Queen Elizabeth National Park area later in the day and check in at your accommodation.

If arrival time and park conditions allow, head out for a short evening game drive for your first introduction to the park's wildlife. Keep watch for elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs and other animals as you explore the savannah.

Alternatively, settle into your lodge and enjoy a relaxed evening ahead of the following day's activities.

After an early breakfast, transfer to Kyambura Gorge for your chimpanzee tracking experience.

The gorge forms a striking forested corridor within the wider savannah landscape of Queen Elizabeth National Park. After a briefing, join ranger guides and descend into the gorge to search for its habituated chimpanzees.

The tracking experience involves walking through forest terrain that can include steep, uneven and sometimes slippery sections. The duration varies according to the location and movement of the chimpanzees.

As you explore the forest, listen for chimpanzee calls and watch the canopy for movement. Other primates, birds and forest wildlife may also be encountered during the walk.

After completing the activity, return for lunch and some time to rest.

In the afternoon, head to the Kazinga Channel for a boat safari. The natural channel connects Lake George and Lake Edward and attracts an impressive concentration of wildlife.

During the cruise, look out for hippos in and around the water, Nile crocodiles along the banks and numerous species of waterbirds. Elephants, buffaloes and other animals may also be seen approaching the shoreline to drink.

After the boat safari, return to your lodge for the evening.

Start the final day with an early morning game drive across the Kasenyi Plains.

The open grasslands are an important wildlife viewing area within Queen Elizabeth National Park. Your driver guide will search the plains for Uganda kobs, elephants, buffaloes and other wildlife, while also watching for predators such as lions.

Wildlife sightings vary from day to day, but the morning game drive provides another opportunity to experience the park before beginning the journey back to Entebbe.

After the game drive, return for breakfast before checking out and starting the drive to Entebbe. Stop for lunch along the way and continue through western and central Uganda.

Arrival in Entebbe is expected later in the afternoon or evening, depending on road and traffic conditions. Your driver guide will drop you at your agreed location, bringing your 3 day Queen Elizabeth National Park safari to an end.
