Overview
Explore four of Uganda’s major wildlife destinations on this 8 day safari combining mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, savannah game viewing and a boat safari.
Begin in Lake Mburo National Park, where an afternoon game drive introduces you to Uganda’s savannah wildlife, including zebras, impalas, buffaloes and other plains species. Continue southwest to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a guided trek in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family.
From Bwindi, travel through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, where your guide will search for tree climbing lions, before spending two nights in the park’s central region. Explore the Kasenyi Plains on game drives and cruise the Kazinga Channel in search of hippos, crocodiles, elephants and abundant birdlife.
The final part of the journey takes you to Kibale National Park for chimpanzee tracking and a guided walk through Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary.
With two great ape experiences, several game drives and four distinct wildlife areas, this itinerary provides a comprehensive introduction to western Uganda.
